CORPSE BRIDE COSTUME TUTORIAL
Before the eyeshadow and hairspray
I bought a white fabric rose from Michael's and placed deep red flatback crystals using an "ok to wash" fabric glue. I then dusted the entire flower (including the underside) with black eyeshadow to give it a dark look. Afterward, I superglued a grey hair-tie to the metallic base of the flower so it could be used as a bracelet or a hairpiece.
I was able to make the veil by taking a headband, a long piece of vintage lace, some freezing hairspray, some superglue, and yes, some black eyeshadow. I took the lace and superglued it to the underside of the headband, in the way you would make a ruffley skirt: by gathering bit by bit of the lace and glue it overlapping each bit of lace, to give the veil a bit of flow. I then brushed the black eyeshadow over the lace, covering the spots unevenly so as to make it look dirty, not intentionally colored. I also dusted the headband, which was a hot pink color. after that, I took the hairspray and sprayed the veil EVERYWHERE, including the underside, outside and the headband. I gave it several layers of hairspray to make it stiff enough to mold when I wear it.
I sewed this skirt by taking a dress I had grown out of that was made of two different parts, the skirt and the top. I turned the dress inside out, and with a seam ripper, I detached the top piece from the skirt part. I then sewed the raw edges of the skirt to clear elastic.
